Meet Minesh Patel, PharmD

Minesh has spent more than twenty years behind a pharmacy counter. He started as an intern in 2004, earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences in 2009 — America's first college of pharmacy, now part of Saint Joseph's University — and has practiced as a registered pharmacist ever since.

In 2022, while working at Rite Aid, he was named Pharmacist of the Year: one of five chosen from more than three thousand pharmacists across the company.

In November 2024 he bought Bensalem Pharmacy. It's his own shop now, and he's the person you speak to when you call — not a name on a wall.

How Minesh practices

Ask him what the job is really about and he won't start with medications. He'll start with the person holding them.

Most people who come to a pharmacy are having a harder week than usual. Something has changed — a new diagnosis, a dose that isn't sitting right, a parent who suddenly needs looking after. Minesh tries to meet people where they are: listen properly, explain without rushing, and never make anyone feel foolish for asking the same question twice.

He also watches what things cost. If there's a lower-priced alternative, a manufacturer coupon, a different quantity that changes your copay, or a call worth making to your prescriber, he'd rather spend ten minutes finding it than let you walk out paying more than you needed to. Nobody should have to choose between a prescription and the grocery bill.

And because the same pharmacist fills your prescriptions month after month, things get noticed — an interaction between medications prescribed by two different doctors, a refill running late, a dose that changed without anyone flagging it. That kind of continuity is hard to get anywhere else.

What being independent actually changes

• You reach a person. Call during pharmacy hours and someone at the pharmacy picks up. There's no queue and no automated menu to navigate.
• We have time to explain. Counseling isn't a box to tick between two hundred other scripts. If you want to understand what you're taking and why, ask.
• Delivery is free, not a subscription. No membership, no minimum order, no fee. It's simply part of being a neighborhood pharmacy.
• We can be flexible. Sync your refills, sort your medications into blister packs, or work something out for an address slightly outside the usual route. Smaller operations can make those decisions on the spot.
• We'll chase your doctor for you. Prior authorizations, expired refills, coverage denials — we'll make the calls rather than sending you to do it.

We speak your language

Bensalem is home to families from all over the world, and a pharmacy should be able to talk to them. Our team speaks English, Spanish, Hindi and Gujarati. Ask a question about your medication in whichever language you think in, over the phone or at the counter, and you'll get a proper answer in it.
